I cannot believe I am writing this, but on my trip to Disney I became and engaged woman! After 13 wonderful years together we are now in a new phase of our relationship, engagement has treated us well and we are so happy to celebrate with family and friends!
Here is our story!
Approximately 6/7 years ago we were discussing what I dreamed my proposal would look like. I work in the events industry and working along side brides for years I was explaining I wanted a few things. Those were: 1) My parents blessing, 2) My nails done, 3) Photographer to capture the moment.
We booked our trip 6 weeks in advanced after feeling burnt out and tired, we decided on a quick trip to Florida and the parks to bring some inspiration and fun into our lives after 2 long years in lockdowns!
We booked Magic Kingdom for our first day there! The most magical place on earth to help kick start our vacation, little did I know Brandon was planning to propose while we were there! As we got closer to the trip, Brandon started to talk to me about how rope drop was on his bucket list, as well as being at the park from open to close. So we added it to the plans, got up early and made it to the park for rope drop!
After taking the Monorail into the park and walking down main street, we took a photo with the Disney Photographers to start the day, in these photos Brandon took out the ring box to show the photo but not me, the photographer asked if we wanted any other poses and we declined as we wanted to get a spot in front of the Castle for the show.
On our way Brandon said good morning to some random people, and I said to him "You say good morning to strangers now?" and he answered "Im in a good mood! Im at Disney!" Well I couldn't argue with him there, it was a good day we were on vacation!
We found a spot up front, took selfies and discussed what rides we wanted to hit first after rope drop.
As the show started, it struck me that we were finally back at Disney after many years and it was just the beginning of the trip! I was getting a little emotional and even made a joke about it. Once the fireworks hit the air and the ropes all dropped, Brandon said we should get a photo in front of the castle before it got busy. He guided me over to the castle and put down his bag. I kept asking (being completely oblivious) who would take our photo, we should ask someone or the park photographers and he said nothing back just guided me to the front and dropped to his knee.
"Will you Marry Me?" is one of the most exciting and anticipated questions many people dream of, and when he asked me, I lost it! A lot of ugly crying and me repeating "Of Course, Of Course" then realizing he could not hear me through my sobs and my hands covering my mouth, I nodded yes! He slid the ring on my finger and we were officially an engaged couple.
After our moment together, taking it all in, and still sobbing uncontrollably, he asked "Would you like to meet your photographers?" Confused, I turned around and saw the couple he said good morning to earlier snapping away.
This moment will be forever be my favourite as this engagement was everything I ever dreamed of and more.
We were then whisked around the park for our engagement photoshoot to capture the emotions and moment. Brandon not only booked them capture the moment, he booked them to capture the day!
I wanted to showcase our lovely photographers!
The husband and wife team at https://www.thecanovasphotography.com/
were so easy to work with, and very knowledgable of all the great photo locations around Magic Kingdom! They took time to explain where we were going and what shots they wanted to make this dream day come to life. I highly recommend hiring them for a surprise park proposal or your engagement shoot! Thank you both for your time and talent and for sharing this moment with us!
Brandon and I spent the rest of our magical day on FaceTime with loved ones, soaking in all the love and support and spending the day, just us two, from park open to close, in happy bliss.
I love you Brandon, thank you for the past 13 years, and my dream proposal! I am one spoiled lady, all because of you. I love you!
