Marvel-ous Weddings

Yes, you read that right, I am creating a series about Marvel Inspired weddings. This past 2 years the Marvel Universe has taken over our lives and I wanted to mix both of my worlds, Marvel and weddings. Other then the fact that I am a Disney, Marvel and Star Wars content creator, I am also a wedding designer! What better way to bring my two loves together!

Saying this, allow me to show you our first Marvel-ous Wedding of this series! LOKI!

The Loki series on Disney Plus had such a strong following and blowing our minds with opening the multiverse. This got my imagination turing at a million miles a minute. I started looking up Marvel themed weddings and only go comic book looking add on's.

“Love is a dagger. It is a weapon to be wielded far away or up close. You can see yourself in it, its beautiful.”
-Loki

We saw a new vulnerable, raw Loki in this series, which led me to believe that he can fall in love (which he kind of did, with himself technically) but lets put that aside, and see how beautiful a Loki themed wedding can be!

The Colour Scheme

We started with using the main colours that make up Loki, Green, Black and Gold. They make up this moody colour pallet that will allow some depth and creativity.

Having some colour to play with in the wedding industry is truly a treat for the designers and guests! Anyone considering doing a Marvel themed wedding, know that you can make it absolutely beautiful without using graphic tees, superhero socks and comic book centrepieces.

Stepping in front of the camera as the model for this shoot, I had a vision of a non traditional wedding, including the brides dress, there is no something old, something new, something borrow and something blue about this wedding.

The Dress

The Bride wore a beautiful emerald green wedding dress from Ana Koi Bridal. This fully beaded dress added such elegant drama, much needed attention to the bride and the theme.

The Floral

The wedding bouquet is an accessory for the bride, but one this beautiful will for sure be the centre of attention, we wanted to stick with the theme throughout the whole wedding, flowers included. Our florist Lavender Blooms Toronto took my vision and turned it into a gorgeous reality.

This bouquet is packed with drama, including black roses, baby's breath in black, gold and white, palm leaves in dark green.

The more you look at it the more details and depth you can see.

Our seating plan was family style, a long table with everyone sitting as one. This type of seating allows for some bigger centrepieces.

Our centrepiece took over the table in such a magical way, the amount of greenery and roses was the talk of the night. This piece tied the theme into the wedding in a huge way!

The Rings & Small Things

All the small details are what can tie a wedding theme together.

Our engagement ring beautifully brought these colours together! Perfect fit for this Loki wedding! We went with a traditional gold wedding band for the groom but a black band would also fit.

Other options for the wedding rings or engagement ring can be a blue stone (for the tesseract) to add a little more in depth easter egg.

Adding little details to the invitation can really set the tone for any true fan, let me know if you can see the hidden details in our invitation. Creating this invitation was lot of fun picking the time and place!

The Hair

We wanted a simple and beautiful up do for the bride in this wedding to allow some small details to come through, like this stunning hair piece!

The gold and emerald green hair comb fit perfectly into the theme and allowed our hair stylist to work around it! A mixture of curls and braids brought some volume and life to this up do!

Our hairstylist Hair By JaaneyMariee really brought this looks together, with a up do to keep the hair away from the dress and off the face all while being its own look!

The Cake

Yes we had to have a Black Wedding Cake! Look at this beauty! The way the gold jumps off the cake and the roses with the perfect mix of black, gold and green this will certainly be a show stopper at any wedding.

As for the Loki and Marvel theme the cake that ties in with the theme is a must have. You can have a beautiful cake with out making it full of fondant characters and half cakes with logos all over it.

Our cake maker Toronto Secret Recipe https://www.instagram.com/torontosecretrecipe/

made this show stopper of a cake, with the help of the florist to bring the final look together!

The Table

Sometimes the table can be the most important part of the wedding, all because most of the night (other then a killer dance party) the guests will be gathering around the table to enjoy some great food and even better company.

One of my favourite styles of seating is Family Style, one long table where all the guests sit at and enjoy the night. This type of seating allows for bigger and more extravagant centrepieces, and low enough pieces to see everyone around you and engage in conversation without trying to see around the centre of the table.

The inspiration for this table was to be elegant and bold, deep colours and a splash of gold for some richness. The Cutlery, Napkins and Goblets came from the wonderful rental company Perfect Party Rentals . They had so many options to bring our wedding to life, it was hard to scale it down!

A new way to let your guests find their seats is to go the non traditional route (I think thats the theme here) and our designer and planner for this shoot Tiny Beaches Boutique did just that, she made 2 different styles of place cards, both made out of Acrylic.

The first gold hexagon with the black 3D names allows the place settings to pop off the plate, these can easily be altered to become a Christmas ornament for your guests to use during the holidays! The second option was the black circles with the gold 3D names on them, these allow for a more subtle yet beautiful looks on the plate.

The plates (chargers and dinner) and wine glasses surprisingly came from Dollar Tree, perfect for the budget bride to put on their own decor that they can use over and over again for more parties to come!

Tie together this look with some black candle sticks on some gold and black bottoms for some romantic light and you have the perfect Loki Themed Wedding, without all the obvious knick knacks.

What Marvel-ous Wedding theme would you like to see next?
